If there is nothing, then what is there? Neither paper, nor pigeons, nor salt, nor fish? We reflect on being. Also on how many beings we lead simultaneously, and we don't even have to suffer from acute schizophrenia. We don't dare to look for explanations and heroism within ourselves, we want a higher authority. Some believe in God, others don't. So where do we want to start our earthly heroism? Maybe it's enough to just take our guilt upon ourselves. Like the unknown prophet John, exactly the John who says: If you believe in God, it does not mean that God believes in you.
As Kristina Matviyenko writes in her study, one of Ivan Vyrypayev’s main goals is “a dialogue with the viewer, sincere and false at the same time. His shameless saviorist charge both attracts and repels. The game of theism turns into a desire to find God, but none of the mantras is entirely true, and so all that remains is the desire to find a solid point and meaning – this Vyrypayev is serious about and is as consistent in it as anyone else.”
